Comparison Methodology

When Bill Broker suggests a bill may be worth reviewing, here is exactly what sits behind that.

What we compare

We compare your own bills over time: the same provider and service, from one bill to the next. If an amount rises materially, we tell you the change in dollars and what it means annually.

Where a plan, promotional period or contract end date is recorded, we flag it before it lapses.

What we do not do automatically

Bill Broker does not run an automated market-wide comparison of every provider in Australia, and does not claim to show you the cheapest offer available at any moment.

Human review

When you use Broker This Bill, a person reviews your bill against options they consider relevant. Their findings are information for you to act on, not a recommendation that a particular product is right for your circumstances.

Limits

Comparisons depend on the accuracy and completeness of the bill data available, do not cover every provider or plan in the market, and can be affected by usage patterns, discounts, concessions and tariff structures that are not visible on a single bill.

Australian Government comparison services such as Energy Made Easy and the Victorian Energy Compare site remain a valuable independent reference.
